Birla Global University Hosts Commencement Day for Bachelor of Business Administration (2026-30 Batch)
Birla Global University (BGU), one of eastern India’s leading institutions of higher education, organised the Commencement Day Programme for the incoming Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) 2026–30 batch, marking the beginning of a transformative academic journey for its newest students.
The programme was graced by Brishti Mondal, Vice President & Head – HR, Nomura Research Institute Fintech, as the Chief Guest and Ankur Zutshi, Principal, IQVIA, Basel, Switzerland, as the Guest of Honour. They were joined by Prof. Kulbhushan Balooni, Vice Chancellor, Birla Global University, Prof. P. Nayak, Dean, Birla School of Management and Tanmay Kumar Pattanayak, Registrar, along with faculty members, alumni, staff and students.
Delivering the Commencement Day address, Brishti Mondal said, “To thrive in this ever-evolving industry, continuously acquire new skills while expanding your knowledge across diverse domains. Strive to become a problem solver rather than someone who merely identifies problems.”
Speaking on the occasion, Ankur Zutshi said, “Success is rarely a straight line. It is a journey shaped by three essential pillars: purpose, persistence and perspective. Purpose gives you direction, persistence keeps you moving through challenges and perspective helps you see opportunities where others see obstacles.”
Addressing the new batch, Prof. Kulbhushan Balooni said, “The quality of your questions shapes the quality of your learning. Never hesitate to question. Give equal importance to your holistic development. While artificial intelligence is a powerful tool, never become entirely dependent on it.”
Welcoming the new batch, Prof. P. Nayak said, “Success is a lousy teacher. True success lies far beyond earning a BBA degree. Opportunities favour those who are in the right place at the right time. To achieve lasting success, cultivate the three Cs—Curiosity to learn, Competency to perform, and Character to lead. These are the qualities that will sustain your success throughout life.”
Extending his best wishes, Tanmay Kumar Pattanayak, “Today, you step into a new chapter of your life. Step out of your comfort zone, actively participate in campus life and never hesitate to ask bold questions. Be a front-liner, not a backbencher. Have a clear objective and prepare a roadmap to achieve it.”
The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Saswati Tripathy Programme Coordinator-BBA, BSoM, BGU
The Commencement Day formally welcomed students to the BBA programme for the 2026–30 academic session. As part of the induction process, the University will organise a 7-day orientation and immersion programme beginning July 23, designed to familiarise students with academic expectations, industry practices and campus life.
